Attendance: taking it and what it drives
For faculty & academic staff · Updated September 30, 2026
Taking attendance or syncing from Moodle, last date of attendance, the 80% flag, and the withdrawal clock.
Attendance is the spine of compliance. It drives withdrawal dates, R2T4 timelines, and SAP checkpoints.
Two ways in
- Take it in Atticus with one tap per student.
- Or sync it from Moodle, where your instructors already take it.
What happens automatically
- Every session updates each student’s last date of attendance (LDA).
- Anyone below 80% attendance is flagged, and an intervention opens with an owner and a deadline.
- Three consecutive fully-missed sessions start a withdrawal clock: Atticus records the LDA, the missed sessions, and a 14-day determination deadline (34 CFR 668.22), and notifies the registrar. If the student returns, the clock resolves itself.
